The bar opens at 5:00 PM.

The show starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for an hour.

After the show, you can eat something on-site. You can also take the meal on a boat to play the board game Publiek Plan from the water. (Allow an extra hour for this.)

What if a city plan grows from our personal experience of public space?

During Public Works, Elly Van Eeghem reflects on the past year of Public Plan, a project in which she explores an alternative form of urban planning together with related creators, residents, and city organizations. 

At the previous edition of Public Works, two years ago, the XL map Public Plan Ghent was created: a gigantic cartographic patchwork of beloved, feared, and dreamed public spaces. Since then, Elly has traveled with the Public Plan Bureau to Antwerp, Groningen, and Ostend. There, they engaged in conversations with residents and created drawings and models together. 

Around the XL map of Ghent, stories, voices, music, and visual material from the different cities come together. On this shared ground, a conversation emerges about the design and experience of public spaces in the city.
