VIERNULVIER is looking for a housekeeping employee (part-time)

VIERNULVIER is an arts centre in Ghent that acts as a central platform for artists and organisations from different sectors. Inspired by a world in motion and arts, we encourage exchange between art and the local and global community.

At VIERNULVIER, we offer a welcoming place where people come together for creation, production, presentation, participation and reflection. We build on our tradition of innovation and community engagement. Openness is central to us, both in knowledge sharing and in entering into collaborations, whether these are natural or not.

Arts Centre VIERNULVIER is looking for an employee housekeeping to temporarily reinforce the team. As a member of the housekeeping team, you will be responsible for the cleaning and tidiness of De Vooruit, a protected monument. You will also provide support with a number of logistical tasks.

What are your main tasks?

  • Together with your other housekeeping colleagues, you will be responsible for daily cleaning tasks;
  • The cleaning assignments run on a daily and weekly schedule, and vary according to the events in the house. For example: cleaning the Concert Hall after a nightlife event, cleaning the VIERNULVIER Café and the offices, keeping the entrance hall clean and tidy, and so on;
  • You will also be called upon to help with logistical tasks: helping to set up the hall (preparing chairs and tables), preparing glasses and drinks, and so on;
  • You will be supported by your colleagues, the coordinator of the housekeeping team and the facility coordinator, who will manage tasks on the work floor.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have accumulated experience within cleaning/housekeeping;
  • You enjoy being on the shop floor;
  • You do not like sitting still and love a physical job;
  • You work neatly and get satisfaction from the result of your work;
  • You are willing to work according to a turn-around system on weekends (starting time 6:00) and working on weekdays between 6:30-14:30 is a good match for you.

What we offer

  • A temporary 4/5th contract until the end of November 2025. Ideal start on 23 September 2024. This is as part of covering an absence due to time credit.
    Salary according to PC 304 - Performing Arts in scale C. Relevant experience will be taken into account.
  • Minimum salary scales and bar tables | Performing arts
  • Extra-legal benefits (including meal vouchers and commuting expenses)
  • A flat organisational structure in which you can take on multiple roles if you wish. Commitment, transparency and room for own initiative in an informal setting are pillars we rely on. Be sure to check out our organisational chart on our website. You will also find our integrity policy and internal regulations on fair practice. Mission and vision | VIERNULVIER
