Looking for: accommodation for a Palestinian performers
Starting in March, laGeste will create a new performance, Badke(remix).
This is a new version of Badke (2013–2016), led by two Palestinian choreographers, Amir Sabra and Ata Khatab. The title is a deliberate inversion of "dabke," the name of the traditional Palestinian folk dance that forms the foundation of the performance. With backgrounds in traditional dabke, contemporary dance, hip-hop, capoeira, or circus, Palestinian performers bring a modern version of this dance, traditionally associated with (wedding) celebrations. Badke(remix) showcases vitality and a passion for dance as a form of resistance.
Rehearsals will take place in Studio laGeste on the Bijlokekaai in Ghent, from March 1 to March 22 and from May 18 to June 2, 2025. The West Bank, where the rehearsals were originally planned, is currently too dangerous.
As staying in Ghent has become unaffordable, laGeste is seeking various accommodations in and around Ghent for a total of 14 people: 2 choreographers and 12 dancers.

laGeste will provide compensation for breakfast and invites you to the premiere of the performance (at KVS Brussels on June 11 or 12).
