A theater special celebrating half a century of music videos.

In 2025, we’ll celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bohemian Rhapsody, widely regarded as the first true modern music video. A milestone, though some striking creations had already emerged in the preceding decades.

Stijn Van de Voorde presents a new show about this fascinating part of the music world: the music video. Stijn knows a thing or two about timeless music, but what makes a music video timeless? And why are clips that didn’t stand the test of time just as captivating?

From the impact of MTV on the music industry and the most common clichés in 80s clips, to the secret ingredient in nearly every Taylor Swift video, there’s a lot to say about music videos.

Stijn talks to figures like Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Paul Stanley (KISS), and Andy McCluskey (OMD) about the pioneering days of music videos, and the current generation gets plenty of attention too. Of course, he also directs his own music video in the most common music video location in the world.

Expect a highly visual performance, with captivating sound and (sometimes bizarre) imagery. Exclusive interviews with global stars, daring empirical research, and even a dolphin in a chair.
