Junior Akwety – singer, songwriter, actor, and audience engagement worker – and Michiko Limanya – performer, queer activist, and artistic collaborator – share inspiring stories from their personal experiences, provide a framework, and facilitate discussions in small groups.
We will delve into the following themes:
- How can artists and cultural workers inspire and strengthen each other through concrete, practical examples?
- What are the current needs of cultural workers, in all their diversity (with a focus on Gen Z), to function effectively within today’s cultural sector structure?
- The cultural sector seems to be in constant flux. How can artists and cultural workers support each other amidst these changes?
The first part of the workshop offers a theoretical framework and maps out participants' expectations. The second part dives deeper into the content by sharing concrete examples within the group. Finally, Junior and Michiko will provide a reflection on this exercise and work together to identify practical tools.
AnAku vzw will also be present at this event as a partner.
The workshop will be conducted in Dutch, but English translation is available upon request. Please mail publiekswerking@viernulvier.gent if you require translation.
