We kickstart your brain with coffee and breakfast while you let a wave of creative insights wash over you at dawn. As you rub the sleep from your eyes, we watch a film together, listen to poetry, read a text, and hear from inspiring speakers.

For this edition of Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast, we’ll be joined by Irish journalist Una Mullally (featured in Dead Centre’s Illness as Metaphor) and Maria-Amah Kouadio (Fat Friendly ASBL). The conversation will be moderated by Róise Goan.

We’ll discuss the challenges of activism within the context of fat liberation and LGBTQ rights, and where these intersect with experiences of illness and burnout. We’re curious to explore how solidarity between different activist movements, as well as art and culture, can help sustain the ongoing and often demanding work of activism.
