'Hamdam' is a Persian word that literally means 'one who breathes the same air.' In Persian culture, it refers to a good friend or confidant. A Hamdam is someone with whom you can freely share your emotions and thoughts without fear of judgment. It is a safe space where everyone is welcome, and where deep connections and mutual understanding are central.

During 'Hamdam', this principle is transformed into a multidisciplinary jam session, an invitation to share sounds, melodies, and compositions together. The journey taken is more important than the outcome; connection is the goal.

'Hamdam' originated from a residency of Ehsan Yadollahi at De Koer in 2022. Monthly, Ehsan Yadollahi and Anouk Turnock roll out the carpets to take everyone who shows up on a musical journey that is not planned in advance, in a circular formation.

Background, level, origin, or age do not play a role here. Making music, listening, or watching are equally valued. Grab your instrument, let your voice be heard, dance and move, or use your image to tell your story during this moment!
