NADIA BEUGRÉ

In her youth, the Ivorian Nadia Beugré (1981) immersed herself in traditional African dance. In 1997 she joined Béatrice Kombé’s widely acclaimed dance company Tché Tché. At that time she also created her first solo performance, ‘Un espace vide: Moi’. Her solo debut sparked international interest and she toured the globe with it.

At the start of the present century, she graduated from the Germaine Acogny’s dance school Ecole des Sables in Senegal. In 2009, Mathilde Monnier took the young dancer under her wing as part of her training project for young, promising choreographers and Ex.e.r.ce. The international press was full of praise for her productions ‘Quartiers Libres’ and ‘Legacy’. Nadia Beugré creates a heady blend of folk, urban and contemporary dance with a contemporary twist of urban and hiphop.
