What is a whistleblower?
A whistleblower is someone who wants to report (suspicions of) irregularities regarding an organization or company. These irregularities involve violations of legislation. This can include criminal acts, fraud, corruption, breaches in environmental protection, safety, data protection, working conditions, etc. Art Center VIERNULVIER has established an internal reporting point for this purpose.
Who can report?
The reporting point is open to anyone who wants to report a problem, such as employees, applicants, volunteers, suppliers, customers, contractors … but also individuals who assist/support the whistleblower in making a report.
What can you report?
In accordance with the Whistleblower Act, you can report violations or matters that you believe in good faith constitute a breach in the following areas:
- public procurement
- financial services, products and markets, prevention of money laundering and
- terrorism financing
- product safety and product conformity
- transport safety
- environmental protection
- radiation protection and nuclear safety
- food and feed safety, animal health and animal welfare
- public health
- consumer protection
- protection of privacy and personal data, and security of network and information systems
combating tax fraud - social fraud prevention
What about your privacy?
The identity of the reporter remains strictly confidential. When you make a report, your identity will not be disclosed unless you give permission for it. In a limited number of legal cases, Art Center VIERNULVIER may pass on personal data to external advisors, competent authorities, and regulators. You are protected against possible adverse consequences related to your complaint.
How do you report a problem?
The reporter can make a written report via the internal reporting channel: integriteitsinbreuken@viernulvier.gent
Your report will be directed to a reporting manager. Within a maximum of 7 days, you will receive an acknowledgment of receipt as a reporter of a problem. Following the report, an internal investigation will take place, and additional information may be requested. Within a period of 3 months following the report, you will receive feedback on the follow-up of the complaint, unless you wish to remain anonymous.
