VIERNULVIER zoekt GRAFISCH VORMGEVER (3/5e)

VIERNULVIER Arts Centre welcomes 350.000 visitors a year for theatre, debate, concerts, spoken word, talks, performance, dance, nightlife and literature, among other things. The VIERNULVIER Café, housed in De Vooruit, acts as a central meeting place. VIERNULVIER presents its programme both inside and outside De Vooruit.

Job description
As a graphic designer at VIERNULVIER, you are the creative brain behind our visual identity. You create, coordinate and monitor our visual expressions in close collaboration with the communication coordinators and in line with the overall communication strategy. Together with communication colleagues, the artistic team and other teams, you work on a visual style that fits the message of each campaign and our house.

  • Together with your coordinators, you develop a long-term vision on the branding of VIERNULVIER and position the mother brand in relation to the many sub-brands such as festivals.
  • Together with your colleagues, you will create the visual style for campaigns (including festivals) and develop various ‘deliverables’ such as posters, brochures, flyers, social media templates, etc., following the brand book.
  • You will work on both smaller graphic assignments (such as menus and signage) and larger projects, such as the visual style for festivals and seasonal programmes.
  • You deliver content for the website and online channels, in consultation with the digital strategist and social media manager.
  • You translate VIERNULVIER's visual identity to the building and external locations, in collaboration with the scenographer.
  • Together with your communication colleagues, you coordinate the graphic design freelancers and ensure that the freelancer pool stays sharp and creative. You ensure that the freelancers get enough creativity but stick to the brandbook.
  • You report regularly on project progress to your colleagues and coordinators.

Profile
We are looking for someone with a strong vision, who knows how to turn ideas into concrete visual expressions, in collaboration with others. You understand the importance of synergy between teams and know how to achieve strong results together.

  • You have relevant experience in a similar position and have an extensive, cross-media portfolio.
  • You have a clear vision on branding and know how to use it to reach a broad audience.
  • You are strong in collaboration: you listen to input from different stakeholders and translate this into powerful visual concepts.
  • You have an affinity with the arts sector (theatre, dance, music, literature) and understand how the different art forms come together visually.
  • You communicate clearly and convincingly with colleagues, programmers and external partners, and ensure that everyone stays involved in the process.
  • You follow the latest trends in graphic design and know how to integrate them into your work.
  • You have extensive knowledge of Adobe CC (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Knowledge of AfterEffects and Première is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • You are systematic and good at guarding timings and deadlines without losing creativity.
  • You think visually where others think in text or concepts, and know how to reach different audiences with inclusive and accessible communication.

We offer

  • A 3/5th contract of indefinite duration.
  • A varied job in a dynamic, cultural environment with nice colleagues.
  • A loose, open working atmosphere with room for initiative.
  • A flexible and sustainable context with attention for the new way of working.
  • Salary according to scale B, PC 304 - performing arts.
  • A package of fringe benefits (flat-rate expense allowance, meal vouchers, group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, bicycle allowance or social contract, etc.).
