VIERNULVIER fights against period poverty
Free period products in the toilets of our VIERNULVIER Café & Terras
A 2019 survey conducted by non-profit organisation Caritas Vlaanderen - in which 2,600 women aged between 12 and 25 participated - found that one in eight Flemish women occasionally do not have enough money to buy tampons or sanitary pads. For women living in poverty, this percentage increases to 45 per cent, or almost one in two. According to a study of 2,000 women aged between 18 and 55, a woman roughly spends about 10 to 12 euros per month on non-reusable menstrual products.
In order to combat menstrual poverty, VIERNULVIER offers free menstrual products in the toilets of our VIERNULVIER Café and those of our Terras.
