Elten Kiene

Elten Kiene (born 1984) is a spoken word artist, presenter, organiser and workshop teacher. He is co-founder of Woorden Worden Zinnen, a platform for word art in the broadest sense of the word. Bringing together different worlds with word art as the main tool runs like a thread through all his work.
In 2020, he received the Cultuurprijs Zuid-Holland from the Culture Fund for his ability to appeal to a wide audience with literary programmes and to bring out the best in young poetry performers.
Elten gives workshops in juvenile prisons as coach of Young Perspectives. He also provides training together with experts by experience to youth officers and probation staff, among others. He gives workshops to young and old throughout the country.
Elten is a regular presenter at North Sea Jazz Festival, Wantijpop and Surfana Festival. For the Next Generation Speaks project, he travelled to San Francisco, Liverpool and Johannesburg to share experiences.
Nowadays, he writes a lot for companies. For instance, he wrote for ING, ENECO and FACILICOM GROUP. Elten always leaves something that connects, surprises, amazes and is of value.
