Freija

Box office

This is Freija! Anyone who often comes across the floor at VIERNULVIER Arts Centre will probably recognise her as one of the faces at our ticket counter.

Freija is a VIERNULVIER regular. For 12 years, she has manned the reception desk, where she warmly answers all the phones, receives packages with a smile and expertly handles ticket sales. However, her career did not start behind the ticket counter, but in our Café. There she worked the night shift for two years.
"As a student, a café job is perfect. But then it got a bit too tough and I decided to apply for my current job. Whether you work in the Café or at the reception desk, you end up standing behind a counter in both cases," she laughs.

Freija enjoys working here immensely, but can imagine that her job is not for everyone.
"You always have to remain friendly and, above all, have a lot of patience. Because yes, sometimes people call with difficult questions or beg for a ticket for a show that has been hopelessly sold out for weeks."

In her spare time, Freija volunteers with the organisation Letssavefood in Ghent, which combats food waste.
"We get food from supermarkets, student restaurants and even from the VIERNULVIER Café. We redistribute that at five different Ghent locations. You can come and pick up a package every day between 6pm and 7pm."
