Jeugd van de Nacht

Jeugd van de Nacht is a movement, network and platform for young people in Ghent's night culture. It was born out of young people's shared need for space, literally and figuratively.
Young people in Ghent night culture are not always heard. While the night is rich in young organisers, DJs, artists, graphic designers, vjs, photo and videographers, engaged visitors, safe(r) space collectives, volunteers, technicians, scenographers, nightlife journalists, et cetera.
That is why Youth of the Night claims the place of the night within the city, maps the needs of the Ghent scene and actively works towards a better future for Ghent night culture. They are the glue between young people and the people who are often less accessible to them: club owners and programmers, major institutions, policymakers...
They organise community meetings, provide more context about night culture, offer young people opportunities to organise and, with all the input from the scene, form a voice towards policy.
