Since 2006, Maybeshewill have released five albums of towering, cinematic post rock. After a decade-long career that saw them tour across four continents they bowed out in 2016, and reformed briefly in 2018 at the request of The Cure’s Robert Smith, ‘cause who says no him? 2021 saw the band return for good – one hopes – with ‘No Feeling is Final’, their first new material since 2014’s ‘Fair Youth’. 

Maybeshewill might perform mostly instrumental songs, but the samples, references and concepts behind their records speak volumes. Their music often references the film world, with samples of monologues and other film lines, but they also pluck from the media to tell their story. Latest feat “No Feeling is Final” listens as a soundtrack to inevitable cynicism about the future, but is cinematic and hopeful at the same time.

Next year Maybeshewill celebrate 20 years - pause aside - and at dunk! festival they come to prove that they still sound as compelling as ever.
