Meral Polat

Meral Polat is a renowned actress, singer/songwriter, theatre maker and documentary maker in the Netherlands, Graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts, Drama & Contemporary Music Theatre. She is born in Amsterdam and has Kurdish/Turkish roots. 

Her field of artistic discipline consists in eminent theatre, film, television and music productions such as 'Gesluierde monologen', 'Snorro', 'Lost Tango', 'Klem', 'De Luizenmoeder', 'Boskampi’s', 'Bodem' and many more. In the last years she has been focusing on her music creations more than other. With her band Meral Polat Trio they have released there debut album 'Ez Kî' Me december 2022 (‘Who Am I’m) and played 79 shows in 11 countries. Their music has been combining memory, nature and identity in a whole new perspective that involves sound, image and space.

Within this setting she takes the next step of her artistic and inner quest to sing and create new, eclectic music called; Kurdish Soul.
