Ray Young

Lecturer

Ray Young is a transdisciplinary performance artist, experience maker, and writer, known for their work at the intersection of activism, queerness, race, and neurodiversity. Their practice focuses on creating safe spaces for those navigating multiple realities, using collaboration and resistance to challenge traditional forms.

In recent years, Young has explored themes of rest, care, and recovery in art—rethinking what it means to create and experience art with care and intentionality at the core. They are committed to developing a holistic artistic practice, integrating art, nature, and technology while challenging capitalist ideologies that prioritize speed and productivity over creativity, care, and well-being.

Young’s work has been presented across the UK and internationally, including in Portland, Mexico City, Dublin, Geneva, Skopje, and Vienna. Their contributions to performance art have earned them numerous awards and recognition, continually pushing boundaries and redefining what art can be and do.
