We Sell Reality

We Sell Reality is a socially contrarian label that was established in a collective context with an open-source character. We Sell Reality creates products and installations, and performs interventions in the public space. The team consists of around 15 social designers. Most members of the collective have come here as refugees and find themselves in a limbo. The composition of the collective is constantly changing. Anyone who wants to join and provide input is welcome.

We Sell Reality reflects on the paradox of closed borders for some and open borders for others. For migrants who do not possess wealth, the borders seem almost impossible to cross. Those same borders are easily crossed physically, or through trade, for someone in possession of a European passport. We Sell Reality makes visible the dependency position that arises for some as a result. The team of We Sell Reality develops products and presentations aimed at providing insight into the lives of undocumented refugees.

The projects of We Sell Reality express a Europe that disappoints and a failing asylum policy. The urge to survive is highlighted, the disruption of being, but also pride, love, and strength are depicted. We Sell Reality makes the reality of vulnerable survivors visible and also relatable. Where market functioning and the right of the strongest apply, We Sell Reality shows the reality of people in the most vulnerable positions.
