A ritual signing of the new Syllabus Contract

The public event takes the form of an artistic dinner, bringing together the practices of Jesse Jones, Fiona Hallinan, Jennie Moran, and Malaika Cunningham.

Jesse Jones has developed Syllabus as an ongoing work in Kunsthal Gent.

Fiona Hallinan’s table, made from the rubble of a demolished concrete church in Dublin, serves as a gathering place and is part of her research on endings and food.

Jennie Moran’s practice of hospitality and food will merge with theatre practitioner and democratic theorist Malaika Cunningham, with whom she collaborates on Midnight Marsh Potluck that is part of the Openbare Werken Festival and looks at reciprocity between the city and its surrounding wetlands.

Together, they will prepare a communal meal as an artwork, titled Breaking Bread.

The evening concludes with a ritual signing of the new Syllabus contract, marking a 10-year commitment to a shared methodology for institutional space. The contract has been developed in consultation with Jesse Jones, Kunsthal Gent, Syllabus community stakeholders, a reading group, and a legal expert Mairead Enright. Syllabus, through its performativity of the law and the extending arm of Federici, holds the space for the imaging of radically shared institutional models.

We invite you to join us for this special evening of eating, sharing, and commitment.

Dit diner is de afsluiter van een semi-publiek namiddagprogramma met TOOP Open for the public.
